Bert Pedersen - Board President
Bert Pedersen . Board President
I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised on Bainbridge Island on the homestead where my father and his family lived when they immigrated from Norway in 1907.  I graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in history. My wife Donna and I have lived in Shelton for the past 4 ½ years. We have been married for 45 years and have three children and five grandchildren. My passions and interests in retirement (from 40 years of food service) are my faith, my family and a belief that I should give back to my community the knowledge and talents God has provided me throughout my life.

Victoria Yando . Treasurer
My name is Victoria Yando. My husband's name is Chris and we have together four children. I grew up pretty much all over the country in a Naval family. Before settling in Mason County in 1991 I had traveled quite a bit as a United States Marine (Semper Fi). Due to events in my life, I became a single parent and, in 1997 I went back to school and became a Cosmetol-ogist, and completed the training as a Cosmetology Instructor. Shortly after beginning my new career in 1998 I  met a Habitat  volunteer. I applied for a Habitat home and became a Habitat Homeowner Oct 27,2000. Now I serve on the Executive Board for Habitat as the Treasurer.  I feel every person should find some sort of  volunteer work that makes them truly grateful for the blessings they have in their own lives. Habitat for Humanity was not a hand out to me it was a hand up. Now is the time for me to reach out and help someone else up!

Dr. Thomas Armstrong

I am interested in helping those in my community who are economically or physically disadvantaged, to help them get the help they need and to help them become self supporting through help and education. I feel that Habitat for Humanity goes a long way in helping meet this need. They not only help provide shelter, but help individuals get back on their feet and become self reliant. I have been in Habitat For Humanity in other communities in my life and am glad to see it come to the Belfair Community, and I want to be a part of the process to see that it succeeds and meets it’s goals.

Dr. Armstrong has also helped to get the North Mason County Resource up and running in Belfair.

I have lived in Mason County since 1973 when my husband and I returned to his hometown where he opened his law practice. I graduated from Washington State University with a degree in history and education. I taught language arts and social studies at Shelton Middle School until my retirement in 2004. My husband, Joe, and I have two children and four grandchildren with whom we spend a great deal of time. Teaching provided me the opportunity to give of myself to the future generation and help children to achieve their potential. In retirement, Habitat allows me that kind of opportunity to give back to the community and help families develop their potential to be successful homeowners.

I was born and raised in Bremerton, and am a graduate of the University of
Washington. I sold yellow page advertising for Dex for 29 years until my
retirement in 2005. Retirement didn't suit me! I now am a REALTOR with
Reid Real Estate in Belfair. I've been married for 27 years to Eileen
Kronquist. Our son Nikky attends the U of W, and daughter Nina is at Olympic
College. I have always believed in civic involvement and the desire to give
back to the community. As a member of Rotary International, our motto
"Service above Self" pretty much sums it up. I simply want to help in any
way I can.
