Sandy Carlson . Executive Director . VISTA Host Site Manager
I am a boomer-aged wife, mother, volunteer and semi-retired Special Education teacher: just can’t quite cut the teaching identity after 35 years in the profession! Officially, I retired from the North Mason School District in 2007, having taught at Sand Hill Elementary for eleven years. I have been a participant in Habitat for Humanity of Mason County activities for the past ten years, a number of those years on the Board of Directors, as a Family Friend and serving with the Family Support Committee. Currently, I find myself serving as the interim Executive Director. I believe that when you lift people up, providing them with the opportunity to reside in affordable, safe, stable home environments, you support them and their children in becoming productive, participatory citizens. My husband, Glenn, and I have been married for forty-one years and reside on Stretch Island in Grapeview. We are proud parents of three children and doting grandparents to four special grandchildren.

Carmen O. Hubbs . Vista Volunteer . ReStore Development
Hello, I am Carmen. I am excited about Habitat for Humanity of Mason County expanding into the North part of the county. It is encouraging to see and will be a blessing to help with this project. I am part of a team that is researching locations, partnerships, volunteers and other resources available in the North Mason area. We are looking to open a ReStore and have been making a lot of connections in conjunction with that. We are looking to open for an interim time period at a location near the 106 in Belfair, WA. Watch for us as you drive through Belfair!

Maggie High - Vista Volunteer - Volunteer Coordinator
I am a VISTA volunteer that works with recruiting, retaining, and recognizing volunteers for Habitat for Humanity. I moved to Shelton in September 2009 from Atlanta, Georgia where I have lived for the last 20 years. I graduated from Georgia State University in 2009 with a B.A. degree in Political Science and a minor in Economics. I have always admired the work that Habitat for Humanity does. I have enjoyed meeting the wonderful people that make it all possible and experiencing a new region of the United States. Contact me if you would like to volunteer!
