Wall Raising Ceremony at House #25

Habitat for Humanity of Mason County welcomes the public for the Wall Raising ceremony of House #25 at 2137 Washington, Shelton, on Saturday, July 30th, at 1:00 p.m.

“We have had incredible support in helping get this project off the ground!! Habitat is about building community and House #25 will be built by our community. We have experienced the power of team builds in their ability to complete an incredible amount of work in a short amount of time. We are also enjoying watching the unity and sense of accomplishment that comes from working side by side with friends, family and coworkers to help build our community and create hope for those in need” said Marty Crow, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Mason County.

A volunteer team from Our Community Credit Union will be on the site for Wall Raising Day, doing the heavy lifting. By the time the Wall Raising Ceremony begins, the walls may be up!

The three-bedroom, two bathroom home will be for the Twidwell family. The two boys are too young to be helping with the construction but the extended Twidwell family has been on site and in the Habitat Store, working to complete the 400 hours of sweat equity that is one requirement for acquiring a Habitat Home. The resident family will buy the home from Habitat for no profit, with a 0% interest loan. The loan payments in turn support Habitat for Humanity's mission to build more affordable housing in our county.
