Dedication Ceremony for House #26

Shelton, WA, (February 19, 2017) – Habitat for Humanity of Mason County celebrated the completion of House #26. The dedication ceremony was held Sunday, February 19, 2:00 p.m. at 50 E Park Dr. in the Timberlakes neighborhood of Shelton. House #26 is now the home of the Chaco family.

“As each Habitat House is completed, we celebrate with community partners, volunteers, family, and friends,” said Marty Crow, Habitat’s Executive Director. “The dedication ceremony features an exchange of the house keys for the first payment on a 30-year, no interest loan. These affordable payments help further Habitat’s mission for future families as well.”

“The one thing I appreciate most about each home dedication ceremony is that we are fulfilling the ultimate dream of homeownership for a family” Crow said. The dedication of House #26 comes just four weeks after the dedication for House #25. For the second time in Mason Habitat’s 21-year history, a cost-effective opportunity arose to renovate an existing, newer home in good condition. The home needed relatively minor repairs and polishing to make it new again for the future homeowners. Due to the shorter timeline to complete the renovation, Habitat will be able to build House #27 and hopefully start House #28 this year.
