Upcoming Wall Raising Ceremony for House #27!

Skookum Rotary and family friends are framing!

Shelton, WA, (December 7, 2017) – Members of the Skookum Rotary Club will be lending a hand on Saturday December 9th at the Shelton construction site of Habitat House #27 at 325 Grandview Avenue in Shelton. The Wall Raising Ceremony will be this Saturday, December 9th at 2:00 pm. The public is encouraged to join friends and family for this event.

“We have had incredible support getting this project off the ground!! Habitat is about building community and House #27 will be built by our community. We welcome additional volunteers, and are in need, particularly on weekdays. Team builds foster a sense of community and their ability to complete an incredible amount of work in a short amount of time is greatly appreciated. We enjoy watching the unity and sense of accomplishment that comes from working side by side with friends, family and coworkers to help build our community and create hope for those in need” said Marty Crow, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Mason County.

The volunteer team from Skookum Rotary will be on site for Wall Raising Day, and could use some help doing some heavy lifting. The ceremony will celebrate a major construction milestone and include a prayer and a short update on Habitat for Humanity’s projections for the coming year.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home will be for the family of Froylan Ochoa, Angelica Godinez and their three daughters. The family has been working on their 400 hours of sweat equity that is one requirement for acquiring a Habitat Home.
