Volunteer Coordinator

 

POSITION SUMMARY
Part Time; Tuesday-Friday, 10am -- 4:30pm
(must be able to work some evenings and weekends)
Reports to: Executive Director/COO
Location: Works between both the Belfair & Shelton locations, primarily
Shelton with a minimum of one day a week in Belfair

Habitat for Humanity of Mason County seeks a highly motivated and energetic individual with strong administrative and database management skills to coordinate the recruitment, scheduling, tracking and recognition of volunteer groups & individual volunteers. In addition, the Volunteer Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Volunteer Services department; and will be responsible for streamlining systems, creating more efficient processes, and managing the integrity of the volunteer database and online scheduling software. This position reports to the Executive Director/COO.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the guidance of the Executive Director/COO, the Volunteer Coordinator will:
-Recruit, train, schedule and manage office volunteers, individual volunteers, and civic groups
-Provide administrative support, and coordinate administrative details, for HFHMC Volunteer Services
-Create and update collateral and content, such as fliers, e-newsletters, and volunteer web pages, that support Volunteer Services activities
-Identify and attend outreach opportunities such as tabling events, fairs, expos etc.
-Coordinate administrative details such as hours tracking, birthday emails, waiver collection, survey/thank you participation emails, hours matching requests, maintaining volunteer lists, sending reminders and e-blasts
-Leverage the potential of our database, Salesforce, to improve volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition.
-Use Salesforce to merge volunteer records and conduct periodic data clean-ups/records corrections
-Assist in managing volunteer management tool, Salesforce
-Create, edit, and manage volunteer postings online and in Salesforce
-Act as the department liaison to the Communications/Marketing team to publicize volunteer opportunities
-Assist with the planning and coordination of volunteer appreciation events
-Contribute to improving and streamlining current systems and programs for better efficiency
-Attend Groundbreaking & Dedication events
-Ensure clear and timely communication with volunteers
-*Other duties as assigned*

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
-Ability to make outbound cold and warm calls on volunteer leads
-Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of attention to detail
-Must have experience working with databases; Salesforce experience helpful, but not necessary
-Independent worker who has the ability to prioritize; excellent follow through; success in meeting critical deadlines
-Familiar with Salesforce or other CRM applications
-Exemplary written and oral communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain a professional and friendly manner when working with staff, volunteers, Partner Families, Board of Directors and Donors
-Highly proficient in Outlook, Word, Publisher and Excel
-Facilitate Volunteer Orientations; give presentations to individuals and community groups.
-Commitment to serving families with low-incomes and advancing the critical call for affordable housing in Mason County.
-Sensitivity to clients of diverse populations & socio-economic backgrounds.
-Able to work occasional evenings and weekends as necessary.
-Good sense of humor and affable personality
-Ability to work in a fast-paced, open, team-oriented, business casual office.
-Able to work nights and weekends as necessary.
-Valid Washington's driver's license. Must be able to drive around Mason County.
-Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
-Must be able to pass felony and misdemeanor background check.

COMPENSATION
$12.00 per hour. Part Time Position.
